Winning an Emmy is great and all, but for Elisabeth Moss — who’s nominated for two lead actress awards for work in two separate shows — Sunday’s ceremony is a chance for her to unleash her inner TV supernerd.
“That’s the best part,” says Moss, who is chasing trophies for Mad Men and Top of the Lake. “Getting nominated is flattering and awesome and cool, and then the second thing is you get to see all these people that you watch on TV and that you’re a fan of.
“I watch a lot a television; I’ve seen all the shows. Steve Carell, I met, and that was incredible … I met Mr. Bates (Downton Abbey actor Brendan Coyle) and literally had trouble speaking.”
To be fair, Moss — who now has five Emmy nominations for Mad Men — could leave her share of admirers tongue-tied, too.
